Update on a donor, and please help save a life.......

I just two minutes ago received an update from Minnesota on the donor search. I still do not have all the information and a for sure we have a donor statement like I hoped I would, but felt it was important to let you all know the status. I have told you all I would let you know as soon as I got an update so here it goes....As of late yesterday they have a donor who is willing and able to donate. Who ever this amazing person is, actually submitted their sample and it was received at the Minnesota HLA lab yesterday. They will be doing further testing and typing to make sure this is the match they are hoping for to give to Ariauna.  The other two donors that were a preliminary 7 out of 8 match for Ariauna, when further typing was done on them were not sufficient matches for Ariauna. So unfortunately, we wait some more. Minnesota should have the results late next week on this donor and if it is the match they are hoping for.  Please, please, please keep Ariauna in your prayers right now and this donor that is willing to help our little girl. I am so grateful to know there are people in the world who are willing and able to donate to save some one else's life.  My heart is so full tonight and hope and pray things will work out with this donor. I hope when we do find the perfect match for Ariauna that we will some day get to meet the donor and thank them from the bottom of our hearts.  If you are healthy enough to donate, I would highly recommend you contact www.bethematch.org and get put on the donor registry. Also, for any of you out there that are pregnant or plan to become pregnant in the future, please keep in mind that the left over umbilical cord blood can also help save a life. It is taken after the birth of the baby and they have saved numerous lives using this cord blood in bone marrow transplants. I know that the likely hood of one of you being a perfect match for Ariauna is very slim, but I also know what it is like to be the parent of a child waiting to get that call for a donor. I hope that each of you will take a moment to consider saving a life by a simple process. I am not asking you to donate a vital organ, but a little bit of marrow that your body will quickly replace.
